Quick Lunch Before Annie.

Mini Me is obsessed with Annie. You all do remember Annie, right? The cute little red-headed orphan with the beautiful voice who sings "Tomorrow" like no other? Yes, little orphan Annie! I turned her on to the original movie, and then she saw the rebooted version a few weeks later. She loves them both! So, I was so excited to learn that the Papermill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey would be performing Annie throughout the month of December. Mini Me's grandparents gifted us with tickets to go see tonight showing of Annie, so I had to plan my day accordingly. I went into work, and took off around noon to pick up Mini Me from school. I arrived back in Brooklyn a little early, so I decided to grab a bite to eat before school let out. I stumbled upon Nicandra's, a cute little Italian restaurant on Irving Avenue in Bushwick. Lucky for me, Nicandra's had just started opening for lunch, so I ordered the Glazed Pork Ribs Sandwich (minus the ciabatta roll). My non-sandwich arrived in about 10 minutes, and I was beyond satisfied. The ribs were fall-of-the-bone tender, and the glaze was the perfect mix of sweet and savory. The crispy kale provided me with enough greenery to feel good about myself, and I was good and full when I was done. All in all, I was so glad that Yelp recommended Nicandra's, and now I recommend it to you. Nicandra's lunch menu is cash only, so no cards during the lunch hours. There is also a brunch and dinner menu, so check them out as well. Check out Nicandra's at 264 Irving Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11237 (nicandras.com).
